Holding the tripod, turn the ring on the fresh food feeder downward in a counter-clockwise direction to unlock and release the silicone attachment. Wash it thoroughly in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher (top rack). The silicone attachment can be turned inside out to allow careful cleaning of hard-to-reach areas. It can also be steam sterilised. Allow it to dry before reattaching. Place the cleaned or replacement silicone attachment in the designated position, then turn the ring upward in a clockwise direction until it clicks and locks the silicone attachment into place.
